Start With the Camas Sheriff
The current public evidence does not show a separate Camas jail name, public inmate roster, booking feed, records-unit line, or booking-photo policy. The Sheriff is the right first call for a Camas arrest because the county provides law enforcement in Fairfield and may know where a person was transported. Ask for the records custodian and the actual detention facility rather than assuming a neighboring jail holds every Camas booking.
Camas County Sheriff’s Office
Sheriff Travis Martin
119 Willow Ave West
PO Box 220
Fairfield, Idaho 83327
208-764-2261
dispatch@camascounty.id.gov
Ask for current records routing.
What the Sheriff can clarify
Whether the Sheriff made the arrest, which agency or facility maintains the booking record, whether a photo is maintained and releasable, and where a narrow request should be sent.
The public page does not publish separate booking-record hours or a fixed photo fee.
Choose the Right Records Office
Use the question, not a generic “mugshot” label, to choose a contact:
- For a booking sheet or booking photograph, contact the Camas Sheriff first and ask whether another facility is the custodian. Use the county public-records form as a starting format.
- For a court case, docket, hearing, or disposition, use myCourts and the Camas clerk route. The Fifth Judicial District page lists the Camas Courthouse at 501 Soldier Road, Fairfield, Idaho 83327, clerk 208-764-2238, and clerk@camascounty.id.gov.
- For a general courthouse question, the county courthouse page lists 208-764-2242, fax 208-764-2349, and courthouse@camascounty.id.gov. The Camas court self-help page provides a separate local court route.
- For state incarceration, probation, parole, or IDOC status, use the Idaho Department of Correction search. It is not a county booking-photo source.
- For an Idaho fingerprint criminal-history or expungement question, use the Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification.
- For federal custody, use the BOP locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator when the facts point to those systems.
- For historical county or newspaper records, use the Idaho State Archives request and catalog paths. An archive is not a current custody source.
Possible Facility Redirects
The 2018 Camas plan says prisoners were transported and held in Gooding or Hailey. The 2024 plan does not confirm that arrangement, and the current statewide jail directory does not list a separate Camas facility. Use the contacts below only after the Sheriff identifies the actual holding location for the person and date.
Gooding County Sheriff
Gooding County Jail
624 Main Street
Gooding, Idaho 83330
208-934-4422
No public Camas roster was linked on the reviewed page.
Blaine County Detention Center
1650 Aviation Drive
Hailey, Idaho 83333
208-788-5555
The facility page describes multi-agency custody. It is not evidence of a current Camas contract.
Do not call either facility a Camas jail based only on an old plan or a private directory. A confirmed redirect should name the office that supplied it and the date of the confirmation.
Prepare a Narrow Request
Include the full name, a short arrest or booking date range, the known agency, and any booking or case number. Ask for the existing releasable booking record and photograph, if maintained. Request an exemption explanation for withheld material and a fee estimate before chargeable work. The Idaho Attorney General’s public-records guidance explains Idaho Code sections 74-102 and 74-103, including request content, residency, response timing, and permitted charges.
A request for “all Camas County mugshots” is less precise than a named, date-bounded record request. It also cannot force an office to create a new compilation or publish a web roster. If the agency says another custodian holds the record, ask for that referral and send a separate request.
